It is with heavy heart, and out of a situation uncontrolled by anybody, I had to place Sailer in an approved home. She was everything a family could ask for. She was house trained, well mannered, an affectionate, loving, very loyal girl, who gave and gave.
You are likely wondering why I would be placing such a great companion? Reason, unfortunately Sailer did not clear her recent eye exam, and although Sailer will not have sight difficulties, if she was bred, her puppies would. As an ethical breeder, I could not have Sailer in my breeding program, and therefore, I offered to the right family, my pride and joy. Although this was an extremely difficult thing for me to do, I had solace in knowing another family would get to experience the greatness of this young girl.
The family I speak of, is a family I had the pleasure to meet in 1989, when they purchased a yellow male from me. They gave Bucky such a warm, loving home for 12 years, and upon his subsequent journey to the "rainbow bridge", they called me for another puppy, but preferably an older dog. I could only think, what a great opportunity for my pride and joy, and what a great opportunity for this family to love again. Sailer went to live in New Jersey, where she is excelling in being a hunting companion, and has become a member of a family, so sensitive, so caring, so loving. Thank you Gene!
